Thanksgiving 2017
Happy Thanksgiving. I had a longer piece written but I just decided short and sweet is the way to go right now. Enjoy the holiday― if it is just for one brief moment or for the entire long weekend. A whiff of roasted turkey. A smile on a child's face. An old family story. Enjoy.
I've put together a collection of recipes, on the lighter side, that you might want to serve as part of your meal. Old favorites from Gathering Flavors―Crusty Baked Shells, Carrots Stewed with Rice & Spice, Marinated Winter Vegetable Salad, and Kale Salad with Lime & Tahini―along with some new ones from a few of my favorite bloggers. Sandy Beach Noodles from 4 Ways to Yummy takes green beans to a new level that everyone in the family will enjoy. Consider trying Chef Susan's brine for your turkey this year. Her blog, The Well Plated Life is filled with amazing culinary insights, fabulous photos, and mouth-watering recipes. Book mark it. You'll find a new twist on Brussels sprouts on My Savory Spoon and Nik's smoked carrots recipe on A Brown Table looks divine.
Did you know that Gathering Flavors is published regularly on The DailyUV, a local news organization? I was interviewed there this week. It's an honor to be a part of this creative group. Thank you. You can read that interview here.
I look forward to seeing you in my kitchen, gathering flavors, soon.
